Exclusive: Sydney Sweeney's Key Advice for Young Actors Pursuing a Career in Hollywood

Sydney Sweeney recently spoke about the most important guidance she would offer to young actors aiming for a career in Hollywood during an exclusive interview. The Emmy and SAG Award nominee, who gained recognition in the late 2010s, shared insights based on her own journey in the entertainment industry.

Some of Sweeneys most notable roles include appearances in Euphoria, Anyone but You, Christy, and The Housemaid. Speaking at the New York City premiere of her latest film, The Housemaid, the 28-year-old actress emphasized the importance of passion in pursuing acting.

"Truly, only do this if you genuinely love it," Sweeney explained. "Its a challenging path, and you will hear 'no' far more than 'yes.' You have to be ready to face rejection. If you love it deeply, none of that matters because you are living your passion."

Sweeneys career began with acting credits in 2009, progressing through minor roles on shows like Grey's Anatomy and Pretty Little Liars before rising to prominence later in the decade. She became widely recognized for her fan-favorite portrayal of Cassie Howard in Euphoria and appeared in series such as The Handmaids Tale and Sharp Objects, as well as the film Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.

More recently, Sweeney has featured in projects including The White Lotus, Immaculate, Anyone but You, Madame Web, and Christy, while also taking on production responsibilities for several works, including The Housemaid. In this latest role, adapted from Freida McFaddens 2022 psychological thriller, she portrays a young woman who eagerly accepts a position as a housemaid for a wealthy couple, played by Amanda Seyfried and Brandon Sklenar.

Reflecting on her experiences, Sweeney highlighted auditions as a favorite aspect of her journey: "I loved auditioning because it allowed me to explore so many different characters. For aspiring actors, especially child actors, the key is to ensure you truly love the craft," she said.

The Housemaid is scheduled to hit theaters on December 19.
