Dolly Parton Shares Which Female Country Stars Were 'Like Sisters': 'a Deep Love Between Us'

Dolly Parton has been sharing memories from her decades in the music industry through her Substack account. In her latest video posts, she fondly remembers collaborating with other iconic women in country music.

I adored Tammy Wynette, Dottie Rambo, Loretta Lynn, and Lynn Anderson, the 79-year-old Jolene singer shared. We were like family. Sure, we joked and gossiped about each other when no one was around, but we always welcomed each other back with love, just like you would with your own sisters.

The ten-time Grammy winner, who joined forces with Tammy and Loretta for the 1993 album Honky Tonk Angels, emphasized the strong bond among them. There was a profound love between us, she said, noting that despite occasional gossip, competition was minimal.

As Minnie Pearl would say, we were just proud to be here. We celebrated each others successes and offered constant encouragement. Jealousy didnt exist; we wanted everyone to shine, Parton added.

These friendships were deeply personal. Before Tammy Wynette passed in 1998, Dolly reportedly visited her in the hospital to do her nails. When Loretta Lynn died in 2022, Parton remembered her as a hero and one of the most significant yet down-to-earth singer-songwriters in history.
