These premium books also come with built-in bookmarks. Trigun, written and illustrated by Yasuhiro Nightow, was originally published in Japan as a three-volume series in 1995-1996. Dark Horse acquired the North American rights, first publishing it as a two-volume series in 2003-2004. The story arc sets the stage for Vash the Stampede, a character who inhabits a hostile alien planet and is pursued by bounty hunters due to the massive $60 billion price on his head. Though Vash is an incredible force when necessary, he is fundamentally a pacifist, trying to avoid violence despite his chaotic adventures. Known as the "Humanoid Typhoon" because of the destruction he unintentionally causes, Vashs story is a sci-fi western that has captivated fans for years.
