Channing Tatum delivered a heartfelt tribute to his late co-star from Magic Mike XXL, Stephen tWitch Boss, three years after his passing. Speaking at the Dance Hall of Fame Ceremony, Tatum reflected on their friendship and celebrated the impact Boss had on those around him. Boss tragically passed away at 40 on December 13, 2022.
A Moving Speech at the Dance Hall of Fame
During his address in Los Angeles, Tatum became visibly emotional as he shared memories of Boss. Before starting, he admitted he had tried to hold back tears, saying, I do this because tWitch made me laugh all the time. But to say that it is an honor to sit up here and talk about that man is an understatement.
He explained that he had spent time reflecting on what he would say, acknowledging that some attendees might have known Boss longer or more personally than he had. I got to work with him, and I got to work with him for a good amount of time. As I was just sitting here watching that video, and you just see his face and it all, you really need to see,
Tatum remarked.
Remembering tWitchs Spirit
Tatum described Boss as one of the most brilliant people. He just loved so big. He just loves so big and thats why he just shines so much.
He emphasized that Boss inspired everyone around him to strive for their best and embraced people for who they were, wherever they were in life. He wanted to help, and he wanted to be there,
Tatum added.
A Personal Connection
The actor also revealed a deep personal admiration for Boss, jokingly calling it a man crush. He attributed part of their bond to their shared Alabama roots. Maybe it was because were both from Alabama, and I just felt some sort of kinship to him. Roll Tide, by the way. Im sure he yelled it back and is laughing at me right now. It was an honor to know him. It was an honor to call him a friend, and I will see him again.
