Fans of Blue Bloods watched the Terraciano brothers, Tony and Andrew, grow up on screen. In real life, the siblings portrayed Danny Reagans (Donnie Wahlberg) sons, Sean and Jack Reagan, throughout the shows 14-season run. When Danny received his own spinoff, Boston Blue, the role of Sean was recast. Mika Amonsen now plays Dannys youngest son, while Andrew Terraciano has not publicly addressed the change.
What Andrew Terraciano Is Doing Now
Andrew Terraciano graduated from New York University in May 2025. Following graduation, he traveled with his family, including his brother Tony, sharing glimpses of their adventures on Instagram. Most recently, he posted photos from his Halloween celebrations on November 1.
Outside of Blue Bloods, Terraciano, 22, has been involved in short film projects. He acted in Rogue Assistant in 2014 and wrote as well as acted in a 2022 short film titled A First Step Into Darkness. No additional credits are listed on his IMDb page yet.
Reason Behind Sean Reagans Recasting
Boston Blue follows Danny and Sean Reagan as they start new lives in Boston. Sean moves to the city first to begin his police career, independent of his familys law enforcement history. After sustaining serious injuries while off duty, Danny joins him in Boston and continues his detective work alongside Detective Lena Silver (Sonequa Martin-Green). The Reagans and Silvers grow closer, keeping the Reagan tradition of weekly Friday family dinners alive.
Creators Brandon Sonnier and Brandon Margolis explained the recasting decision to TV Insider, noting that they wanted a slightly different version of Sean to reflect the characters growth. Margolis emphasized that the new actor represents the life changes Sean has undergone while taking on his familys legacy.
Fan Reactions to the Recast
As of now, Boston Blue has aired six episodes. Amonsen addressed fan feedback, acknowledging some negative reactions but also highlighting positive responses. He noted that many viewers appreciate his interpretation of Sean and enjoy the direction of the show.
Will Jack Reagan Appear in Boston Blue?
There is currently no confirmation regarding Jack Reagans appearance in Boston Blue. However, it seems likely that updates on his character will emerge, as Danny would not ignore his other child. Donnie Wahlberg has hinted that more Blue Bloods alumni could appear, and if so, Jacks role may also be recast, given that the original Sean and Jack were portrayed by real-life brothers.
Boston Blue airs Fridays at 10/9c on CBS.
