2026 Film Independent Spirit Awards nominations revealed (live updates)

This morning at 10 a.m. ET/7 a.m. PT, Film Independent has unveiled the nominations for the 2026 Independent Spirit Awards, honoring innovation and excellence in both film and television. The announcement will be broadcast live on the organizations YouTube channel.

The awards ceremony is set for February 15 at the Hollywood Palladium, marking a departure from its traditional Santa Monica Pier location.

On the film side, nominations will be distributed across 17 categories. Eligible films must have a production budget under $30 million, with the John Cassavetes Award limited to films costing no more than $1 million. Television will feature six categories, and all performance awards are now gender-neutral.
