'Wrapped' released as Bad Bunny regains Spotify's number one position

Spotify has announced that Bad Bunny was the most-streamed artist worldwide this year, coinciding with the release of its annual Wrapped recap for users. The Puerto Rican superstar has reclaimed the number-one position, surpassing Taylor Swift, ahead of his anticipated Super Bowl halftime performance in February.

His latest album, Deb Tirar Ms Fotos, dropped in early 2025. At 31, Bad Bunny has repeatedly been Spotifys most-streamed artist of the year, reflecting the growing influence of Latin music on the global stage. He has also achieved multiple Billboard chart-topping hits.

Notably, Bad Bunnys current tour does not include U.S. dates due to concerns about potential ICE raids at concerts, which are popular with Latin American audiences.

This years Wrapped arrives amid ongoing criticism of Spotify. Musicians have long argued that streaming services pay too little. More recently, some have also expressed concerns over Spotifys allowance of AI-generated music and the founders investments in AI-related ventures.
