Bo Bichette becoming a free agent would be the worst-case scenario for the Blue Jays.

While focusing on adding starting pitching, the Blue Jays may have overlooked the chance to acquire either Kyle Tucker or Bo Bichette. The team might be forced to choose between the two, and neither option is guaranteed.

Mark Feinsand of MLB.com recently listed ideal fits for free agents this offseason, naming Bichette as one of them. However, the suggested landing spot could spell trouble for Toronto.

Yankees Could Snatch Bichette

Feinsand suggests: "Yankees: Bo Bichette." While a reunion with the Blue Jays remains possible, a strong offer from the New York Yankees could lure the shortstop away. Losing Bichette to a division rival would be the worst-case scenario for Toronto. Not only would they part with one of their top offensive performers, but he would also strengthen a major competitor.

The Yankees acquiring Bichette would address gaps left by Anthony Volpe and provide depth alongside Jazz Chisholm Jr. Although it might seem unconventional, such a move remains feasible.

Blue Jays Options and Bichettes Freedom

Toronto is keen to retain Bichette and is exploring contract possibilities, but the shortstop has full freedom to sign with any team, including the Yankees, who are known for offering significant contracts to free agents. Returning to Toronto is plausible, especially if the team secures players like Kyle Tucker or Cody Bellinger.

Should the Yankees succeed in signing Bichette, it would mark a disappointing conclusion to his tenure with the Blue Jays and deliver a blow to the teams long-term plans.
